Denominational & Interfaith Work

I have been involved with Unitarian Universalism for more than three decades. As a lay leader, I gratefully utilized UUA resources (such as Our Whole Lives, FORTH, Allies for Racial Equity, and UU White Supremacy TeachIn Resources).

When in seminary, I served as one of the Covenant Representatives for the Student Advisory Council (SAC). I’ve also developed collegial relationships over the years through my local and regional/district Unitarian Universalist communities. Currently I am serving as:

  • a co-convener of the local minister’s cluster (Prairie Lake UU Ministers [PLUUM], and
  • the secretary of the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association’s (UUMA) Central Midwest District chapter.

Working with my local interfaith advocacy group transformed my life. In addition to learning more about the prison industrial complex (and advocating for changes to improve it), I got to meet people from various faith backgrounds. Friends and acquaintances who identify as Catholic, Buddhist, Jewish, Muslim, and more have broaden my perspectives. I so appreciate coalition building with a greater community good as the goal.
